First play MSU vs OSU. OZ to boundary with a leverage pre snap bubble read. Zig zag motion to help with leverage and take a solid first gain pic.twitter.com/qQBiSv9j74

MSU playing HOT coverage. Deep 1/3 late gaining depth, we’ll come back to that. Great play call vs this coverage. Great protection too pic.twitter.com/fnUXRnWVxN

Empty. Read deep safety and pick a side. Some interior pressure, QB not phased. Good route and timing pic.twitter.com/HpOLgazTWE

Again HOT coverage. OSU goes Duo and bounces into a free hitter, but a large hole pic.twitter.com/IYajj6XsnY
— Space Coyote (@SpaceCoyoteBDS) November 23, 2021
Common MSU response vs unbalanced and jet motion is to pressure. Back to HOT, but motion/formation clear out the boundary and it’s 5 on 5 in space pic.twitter.com/RbA4LgIm7I
— Space Coyote (@SpaceCoyoteBDS) November 23, 2021
Again HOT coverage. Double A twist but 2nd LB really late and curl coverage doesn’t trust DE to do his job pic.twitter.com/sGF3P24kKC
— Space Coyote (@SpaceCoyoteBDS) November 23, 2021
2nd and negative yards. Pre snap bubble and post snap slide RPO attached to mid zone. Enough to pick up the 1st down pic.twitter.com/wEM9wvYalK

Quads shift to 2x2 gets the Ni stuck into boundary vs jet. Expect to see a lot of this from PSU if MSU sticks with their rules pic.twitter.com/Ss3ZoRzjP5

Not a lot of commentary here, just, I mean, good luck I guess pic.twitter.com/7M5mCdB25L

A positive play by the safety for MSU pic.twitter.com/GWPVESlhY7

From @Abyrne44 on Stallion Concept https://t.co/DBuX7EHtwP

Spacing concept vs Creeper Cover 3. Good play call vs OSU tendency to get QB going pic.twitter.com/NLbQyC3kqp

Free access RPO off insert. Play is there, odd play by the LT here as he hinge blocks and DE gets the knock down pic.twitter.com/qgarv6fT43
— Space Coyote (@SpaceCoyoteBDS) November 23, 2021
Disaster first offensive play for MSU. Great position to run stretch to the boundary with OSU rotating safety back to MOF. First time in a hostile road environment and half the OL is running other direction pic.twitter.com/Xu0nU599px
— Space Coyote (@SpaceCoyoteBDS) November 23, 2021
Great call on the slow screen to the boundary vs poach. DT identifies the screen blocking and goes and hugs the RB on what could have otherwise been a big play pic.twitter.com/qaKKZv3EGb
— Space Coyote (@SpaceCoyoteBDS) November 23, 2021
As much as the addition of two high, I think the ability to run subtle variations of the C1/C3 schemes has really helped OSU defensively pic.twitter.com/bqSAcVPMxq
— Space Coyote (@SpaceCoyoteBDS) November 23, 2021
When in C4, OSU showed a lot of this Meg to the field, Mod to the boundary when the Y was to the boundary. That said, I don’t think it’s true “Mod” in the sense of man matching. Think it’s a more traditional quarters/4-read pattern match.

If this is a tendency I'd expect some Pin and Pull and/or stretch into the boundary vs OSU from Michigan https://t.co/8NRSois7DA

So remember that Cover 3 corner being a little late on his turn and nosey on the curl?
— Space Coyote (@SpaceCoyoteBDS) November 23, 2021
Uh oh pic.twitter.com/DkOMEaY0Vd
Offense pressing down 14-0 and this is why you give when the D rushes the mesh point (Counter run is open too) pic.twitter.com/dFu8ItRvul

All Curl off PAP. Talk about some of the positives and negatives of the sniffer position here pic.twitter.com/0q8KjQpZvF
— Space Coyote (@SpaceCoyoteBDS) November 23, 2021
Third and Long. Long developing play, really well protected, big time throw. Too easy for the receivers here though pic.twitter.com/TIhuzb1TaO
— Space Coyote (@SpaceCoyoteBDS) November 23, 2021
MSU back to boundary run with numbers. LB does well here scraping but RB makes a man miss and it’s 10 yards pic.twitter.com/HMFV2e1fTh
— Space Coyote (@SpaceCoyoteBDS) November 23, 2021
Just keep attacking the boundary in nub. This is basically wind back but with the H instead of RB. Yards are there pic.twitter.com/vJ4DRKMQle
— Space Coyote (@SpaceCoyoteBDS) November 23, 2021
Have I told you about how I don’t like how MSU runs lead stretch? I have? A million times? Ok, here you go again pic.twitter.com/7rzmi3bgje
— Space Coyote (@SpaceCoyoteBDS) November 23, 2021
Back to stretch. OL doesn’t have the count right, blocking one too far back. RB don’t care just make play ok pic.twitter.com/5YEZFIMD0K
— Space Coyote (@SpaceCoyoteBDS) November 23, 2021
It's been mostly 2-Read when facing a TE and a WR into the boundary.
— Cameron Soran (@cameronsoran) November 23, 2021
Which is fine; it plays the odds.
But I haven't seen anyone test the CB with, for example, a G-Lead into the boundary. WR-to-S & G-to-CB can be quite effective against a tepid, zoned-off CB.
OSU in Cover 1. MSU goes post wheel. QB predetermines he’s going wheel thinking it’s the match up advantage. FS cheating over receivers and post is open. Thrown into good coverage pic.twitter.com/qVrfhjqaiP
— Space Coyote (@SpaceCoyoteBDS) November 23, 2021
Bluff and go off swing screen. Cloud they throw the outside go, otherwise the slant. WR late with eyes. Yards you need to have pic.twitter.com/H7upATw1uG
— Space Coyote (@SpaceCoyoteBDS) November 23, 2021
Just trying to get one on one in space. WR gets a win… until he doesn’t pic.twitter.com/uZgYlpH8H9
— Space Coyote (@SpaceCoyoteBDS) November 23, 2021
@cameronsoran @SpaceCoyoteBDS Here is pin and pull on the C4 CB to the boundary. Boundary S is in poach so checks 3 and then fills the alley. pic.twitter.com/QcA8XTuGZ5
— Ross Fulton (@RossRFulton) November 23, 2021
Nub TE strikes again.
— Cody Alexander (@The_Coach_A) November 23, 2021
You have to treat that like a stack, meaning you need to Cloud that.
Man short...
Not good formationally. Can’t win with this vs OSU pic.twitter.com/GsvVJdrJgs
— Space Coyote (@SpaceCoyoteBDS) November 23, 2021
Tampa 2. Not MSU’s answer pic.twitter.com/bINKEJjaYW
— Space Coyote (@SpaceCoyoteBDS) November 23, 2021
Tampa 2, really not the solution. Good shift of empty to TE-Wing too on Counter OH pic.twitter.com/edJMBOqRhq
— Space Coyote (@SpaceCoyoteBDS) November 23, 2021
Cover 3 Cloud response to jet motion. FS plays too flat, OSU hits PAP over the top for a TD, but curl open too pic.twitter.com/fWMtyMB7lj
— Space Coyote (@SpaceCoyoteBDS) November 23, 2021
Overs concept, a deep mesh vs Cover 1. Well done by the Cover 1 CB playing the hands pic.twitter.com/S98wDYPg3b
— Space Coyote (@SpaceCoyoteBDS) November 23, 2021
Re:TE down block (first step with right foot). Teams block pin and pull differently.
— Space Coyote (@SpaceCoyoteBDS) November 23, 2021
Some seal the DE with TE and always wrap.
Others always down block with TE and if DE does outside the TE just works to the LB level and first pull kicks the DE.
