I used to do more of these back in the day. Admittedly, this is more about Michigan and a response to some of the criticisms of Michigan from this game. So sorry it's light on the OSU POV. Kirthmon F. Dozier, Detroit Free Press

Raj Mehta USA TODAY Sports Offense:  Lots of personnel groups, but mostly between 11 personnel, 12 personnel, and 21 personnel. More zone blocking than against WMU which worked really well. Defense:  Same old same. More MEG in this game compared to the MOD to the field they did against WMU.

FRANCIS GARDLER/Lincoln Journal Star Offense: Mostly 11 personnel, mostly gun, but mixed in a bit more under center stuff than last year Defense:  Started heavy with Cover 4 (looked like MOD), switched to more single-high in 2nd half

 (VASHA HUNT) Offense: Inside Zone base with Power O mixed in. Lots of 21 and 12 personnel, mix of under center and gun Defense: One-gap 3-4, mostly Cover 1

Melanie Maxwell | The Ann Arbor News Offense:  Almost even split gun and under center. Man blocking mostly. Lots of personnel groupings. Defense:  Single high defense, mostly Cover 1. Ran mostly nickel grouping with over front and 3 down DL.

Base D - 4-3 Under was the standard, but they played a bit of 3-4 as well is certain situations. Mostly a two-high safety look, lots of Cover 2 and Cover 6; passive defense.

I'm writing about this only because it involves two B1G teams, one for which Rudock played, and another for which he is transferring to. (Charlie Litchfield/The Register) This is what I had to say about the Iowa QB situation early last season QB Situation I really don't think Rudock got any help from his receivers. His INT was just about a perfect throw, he also had a TE drop one that hit him in the gut. I thought, for the most part, his accuracy was good, arm strength was good enough. Where he struggled, IMO, was his eyes and getting to the right spot in his progressions on time. Missed a open bench route that should have been his first or second read in his progression (based on defensive key) that lead to Iowa's first punt, for instance. Beathard might have a little bit better arm strength, though his ball wobbles a bit more. But where he separated himself to me was that he tended to see the field better. Not always on time, but he got the ball where it needed...

Normal day for PSU defense. Maryland had 17 real drives, 12 went four plays or fewer, three went more than 5 plays. Only three drives longer than 17 yards. 11 Punts, three fumbles A normal day for the PSU Offense. 16 real drives (really 17, because they tried to gain yards before getting sacked before halftime). 11 drives went five plays or fewer, six went more than five plays. Went longer than 50 yards once. 8 punts, three turnovers. Moderate success early, leading to consistent lack of success late. After first six drives, 7/8 went three plays or less, 9/11 went four plays or less. Maryland O: Mostly 11 personnel from Gun PSU D: 4-3 Over or Nickel Over; mix of coverage, lots of Cover 6 PSU O: Mostly gun, 12 personnel. Lots of man blocking schemes in 1st half, zone in 2nd Maryland D: 3-4 Under
